Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Established in 2001, the Dot NAME generic domain name extension is the only one meant for personal sites only. These domains can consist of personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other titles people are popular by. At the beginning, just 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you planned to buy john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already bought 3rd-level domain names remained active.

Through our company, you can acquire your .NAME domain for a time interval between 1 and 10 years. You will have the chance to edit the WHOIS details, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already registered domain to our firm if you take its EPP transfer authorization code from the current registration provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been finalized. There are no special rules on who can register a dot NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the goal behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no link between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration may be challenged.
